Should I be worried about heart palpitations?

You should seek immediate medical attention if you experience palpitations along with any of the following symptoms:

-
Severe shortness of breath
-
Chest pain or tightness
-
Dizziness or lightheadedness
-
Fainting or blackouts

If your palpitations are frequent, persistent, or accompanied by other concerning symptoms. It is advisable to consult a doctor (your GP or your Cardiologist) for further evaluation. Most of the times an ECG monitor would be required in order to make a proper assessment. Sometimes an echocardiogram will be needed as well. We can guide you in case this would be recommended.
