ECG

A basic electrocardiogram (ECG) is a fundamental cardiac test that records the electrical activity of the heart for few seconds.

It is a simple, non-invasive procedure where electrodes are placed on the skin to capture heart rhythms and detect abnormalities.

While an ECG is essential for a preliminary heart health assessment, it has limitations; it may not identify all heart conditions, particularly those that occur intermittently. Nevertheless, it serves as a crucial tool for diagnosing issues such as arrhythmias and previous heart attacks, making it an important component of routine cardiovascular evaluations.

If you are self-referring it would be important to discuss the findings with your GP or a clinician.
